Brake pads and Tires need replacing at 43k?
Each tire will have a sticker which will indicate the widest and smallest rim width it can be safely mounted on.
As to the 175 and 185 etc, so long as the wheel is the correct diameter, the width is not going to be an issue. With the 185 you will get a SLIGHTLY bulgier sidewall, a little more comfort, and a little less performance in the turns. Probably not enough to notice - especially since they are going to be snows which feel like mush compared to regular tires anyhow.
