I'm about to mount my roof rack for a snowboard trip, I have the thule bars and using the fit kit #2199 and was wondering of mounting the fit kit scratches the car. I was going to put some foam padding where the the clamps touches the door frame on the car.

 

i put mine on and off all the time, haven't had any issues w scratching. i'm planning on getting some 3m clear bra to put down where the feet go though eventually.
