Seat issue

I have a 2010 Sport. It's about everything I expected with the exception of an issue that I have not yet been able to address with the dealer (warranty issue I hope). I have noticed that when cornering the drivers seat, and the passenger seat as well I think, makes a clunking or notching sound. It is not the back and forth adjuster rails, nor is it reclining. It seems to be the seat back clicking side to side.

I know that it is not the sound of a partially empty fuel tank from below the seats.

Anyone else run into this issue?

Does it make the noise under hard cornering or pretty much any turn you make? I was going to say check that the bolts on the rails are tight but you said it's not rails. I know my seat was making making a clicking noise when I first got it but it was more sporadic and it went away when I made sure everything was tight and then set both chairs to different positions.

Most likely the front bolts on the seat rail. Pop the covers and snug them down - careful not to over do it. Issue has been discussed a few times before. Search seat rails might turn something up.

Yeah the guy in charge of bolting down the seats on the GE8's was caught huffing paint in the women's bathroom at Honda. He has been moved to the floor mat installation department.

i notice the same feeling as well but i thought it was due to my size and usage of the car....I've put some wrinkles in those seat cushions.

AT the last (first) oil change I had the dealer take a look at the rail bolts. Not to say they did. But the problem seems to be in the seat back itself, rather than the base. When I corner right, it clicks, then is quiet until I corner left, then click.

I'm a hair over 180 lbs and put some wrinkles in the seat fabric. It's because the fabric is cheap.

Ditto on tightening the bolts. Had the same issue.

I'm betting on the seat bolts. There was a recent TSB on this, so your dealer might not have noticed it when you took it in before.

Mine started as a click in the front seats, then got to where I even noticed a slight noise when shutting doors or going over certain bumps, tightened the bolts and it went away. I think we're all trying to encourage you to check out the bolts lol. wouldn't hurt or cost anything but a couple minutes to check.

Using a socket wrench? Am at work and haven't had the chance to look at the bolts.

Yep, going to be a 10MM bolt I'm thinking. The plastic covers snap off, pry the rear flanges apart and lift off.

You could use a herring, but a socket wrench works just a bit better.

14mm socket for the stock bolts.

I'm nearly 50 pounds heavier than you, and I've been driving for almost 2 years and I have no wrinkles. Maybe I got lucky...

I think how you sit is a lot of it. Before I changed the incline of the seat, the limited rear travel and flat angle of the bottom meant that my knees were up and my thighs barely touched the front edge. As a result, all my weight was on the center-rear of the cushion.

To the OP: I also had clicking and today I pulled off the covers and tightened the seats. The front right (by the center console) was way loose. Drove it afterwards, bouncing my fat ass all over to test it and NO MORE CLICKING. Def give this a shot. Enough pple have told u to already
