You will RUIN the handling if you move the gas tank
Two reasons:
1) the lowest point is where the oem location of the gas tank is
2) a fwd configuration benefits from having the weight placed in the middle... If u put the tank higher and in the rear you WILL ruin the handling

It sure seems like there would be negative consequences from mounting the fuel tank in the spare tire well....The way my Fit is so eager to go from under steer to full loss of traction on all 4 wheels before regaining control of the front wheels and pulling the rear into line, makes me wonder if more weight in the rear end would be of benefit... Dropping the rear end of the car a bit redistributes weight to the rear and improves caster of the front making the car a little less treacherous when the front end washes out.

You have a really fantastic car there. I would love to have the time and money to build something like what you have.

Do you have any photos of it on the race track? It would be great to see some action shots.

Good luck to you and i hope you keep having fun in your excellent little Fit.

Steve.

Basically when you turn left, the LSD fight with you to turn right when you push throttle again, and the steering wheel become ultimately very very heavy. Every turn is a fight against the steering wheel...

Then we decided to adjust the camber better, then the car came up easier to drive but still, this LSD is fighting with me on every sharp turn I can tell you that after this 15 laps race I had no more energy at all... Solution is to do more fitness

I just ordered bigger racing sway bars, custom made in Japan. Should improve the handling better
Great choice on the LSD man! What kinda MFactory LSD did you get for your car btw? I assume you have the clutch type metal plate ones?

Awesome sounding car. At 9000rpm it makes all the other hatchbacks sound so boring.
Turbo is not an option in the current config due to VERY high compression ratio. Also the racing class regulations are such that forced induction would put him in with WRX, Evo's, Porsches and some beastly 240sx.
This car is really a work of art though. I hope you run it more this year?
