Newbie in need of help with rims and tires

Hey, i'm a new owner of the fit. I have the 2010 base model MT. I love it.

I've been doing some research but i still can't decide what to do. I
definitely don't want 15 inch rims but i don't know if i want to up it to 17 or 16.

I plan to get coilovers later to drop it like 1 - 1.4 inches.

My REAL question is, what offset, tire size, rims etc do you guys prefer? Personal stories of rubbing issues? anything to help would be awesome.

Im a GD guy, but on a GE I would go 16. Lower it a little lower, maybe 1.5-2 inches. 16x7 205/45/16. As for offset im not to sure with GE rubbing issues, but i have seen +25 on them and look REALLY nice.

Try the Shoes section of this forum. Go into Rubbing What works thread and ask this same question. Jim at Tire Rack will chime in and help. Or just go to Tirerack.com, enter in your Car info, search wheels. This website will give you the SAFE offset for your car, however it is up to you ultimately what is safe.

I run 16x7 +40 205/40/16 on my GD.

dont know if this helps or not but check out the blue fit with retro fit. (looks really sexy)

but his wheels are +41 offset. 17x7.5 +41 to be exact. seems like 40 range is a good offset for fits.
