10,000 mile review
10,000 mile review
I purchased my 2010 Black Pearl Fit with M/T in October of 2010. It is approximately 6 months and 10,000 miles since then and I have decided to do a quick review of my Fit. Before purchasing my Fit I was little bit unsure whether I am doing a right move because prior to my Fit all the cars I've had were sports cars and the car I've drove before my Fit was a supercharged 2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor which had approximately 450hp. With my Police Interceptor I could put up with most cars out there and win without breaking a sweat. Switching to 1.5 liter 4 cylinder from a 4.6 liter 8 cylinder was a big change. However, 6 months later I absolutely love my Fit and I only have one small complaint about the car. I really wish Honda had put oldfashioned engine temperature gauge instead of that Low Temperature light. I love the looks of the car, gas consumption, handling, steering and pretty much everything about the my Fit. I thought about doing some aftermarket upgrades to the car, but after some careful consideration I have decided to keep it 100% stock. I used to get about 12-15mpg in my Police Interceptor wiuth spending about $65 per week in gas. With my Fit I usually get 32 to 35mpg and I spend $30 per week on gas.
You can buy an ultra gauge and monitor all the engine perimeters. UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool. Honda motors run cooler even though the coolant might reach 195.

I had a scan gauge and then KC was talking about the gauge and I bought one. I love it and it stays plugged into the OBD2 port. The Scan gauge is built a little better but does not monitor all what the ultra gauge. Ive all ready cleared DTC codes in two different cars. Its not like what they use at the dealer but it works and is a good tool.
As for the temp gauge, my understanding is that most stock ones are really on/off, hot/normal. You're not getting a real temp reading. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
