Line Behind Front Plate Bracket

I took off the front plate bracket (illegal here in CA) and I noticed this line. I've only had the car for a little over 2 months.

Anyone else notice this? Any suggestions or just get touch up paint?

I had the same thing I just put some plastic protector there...it's the same thing they use for motorcycle gas tanks and such.

Thanks. I'm keeping the bracket off though unless I get a ticket. I thought about doing what you did but it looks better without the bracket.

yeah I tried to do the same thing but the ticket is really expensive here. I just relocated my plate off to the side.

Happens on the gd's too. Quite annoying when you want to relocate the plate and you have that wonderful wear line.

Hard to tell from the picture, but have you tried buffing that area with some wax? It might disappear.

I took my front plate bracket off the first day before mine got scarred. In my experience, it's better to not have a front plate. I've rec'd two fix it tickets in the last 20 years, but no traffic cam/ red light tickets .

count your blessings

You should feel blessed that the dealership didn't screw a bolt through the front of your bumper to secure the plate. It would have stopped the vibration which caused that line to form, but of course would have left you with a nice hole.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll see what I can do when I have some free time.
