Removing wheel well and door trim...

My car, as many other DFW area Hondas, has the dealer installed package consisting of wheel locks, rubber cargo mat, tint, and body color matched wheel well and door guard/trim.
I would like to remove the trim but would like to know if anyone has had problems with paint after doing this?

I've removed it in the past on some BMWs, wait for it to get hot, pull it off, clean up adhesive with goof off.

The wheel well trim is body matched, not the wheel well itself.

Why don't you post pictures? It's not like those items are standard everywhere.

In general, when you want to remove trim, park your car in the hottest sun to soften the adhesive and use dental floss to separate moldings from car body. Then remove leftover adhesive.

oh ok, now i understand wat you're saying. i was like WTF?

yah, definitely remove them as they mess up your lines of the car. you shoulnd't need to heat it much. ive just pulled them off in my garage with no heat. just go slow and gentle not to tear the mounting tape and kind of shear it off with your thumb.

you can use goo-off or WD40 on a soft towel to remove the residue. wash and wax afterwards.

Thanks guys thats exactly what I'm doing, I did one side and will do the other tonight, getting the adhesive off with Goof-off is time consuming. Huge difference once you get it off though...

...and its taking 1.7# of weight off the car!!!!
