GPS mount parts search

Does anyone know if the HONDA COMPACT NAVIGATION SYSTEM ATTACHMENT part # 08B44-TF0-500 , mount parts are available in the US? I would like to mount my Garmin Nuvi with the Honda mount if I could find one. Cheers

Nice! But how do you get the Garmin mount to hold suction on the textured dash?

I forget but it was either Super glue or GOOP. It has not come off.

I dug around in my junk box and found this plastic disk that I now remember came with my Nuvi 750. It is polished on one side and has some foam tape adhesive on the other, evidently designed for dash mounting the Nuvi mount. But my Fit is new and has some kind of mold release on the plastic that I have to clean off first. I would love to wire it internally like the Honda Compact Nav kit, but I don't want to tear into the dash right now. Cheers.

THat is the piece. Try using GOOP vs Super glue. It should come off OK if you decide to remove it.

I used 3m double sided tape (the grey stuff). it'll stick very, very well as long as you clean the top of the dash with an alcohol pad. it'll come off without damage to the dash as well. I had a garmin setup that way for a year with no problems at all.

I mount my GPS on top of a Nav bean bag which I can remove before getting out of the car. I prefer a non-permanent mount to avoid any tell tale signs that I am using a GPS on my dash or windshield to avoid smash and grab incidents.

When getting out of the car, I usually tuck the beanbag underneath the seat or in the glove compartment, out of sight.

Some of my friend's vehicle windows were victims of smash and grab because they failed to remove the suction cup marks on their windshield. Thieves use smash and grab technique trying to look for GPS hidden in the car.

Their smashed windows are covered by insurance no doubt but they have to fork out a couple hundreds in deductible each time
