gps mounting
I just recieved a new tomtom gps for my fit and dont want a windshield mount thing as it just screams rip me off and damage my car when u break in. Does anybody know of a good mount system for the fit that keeps it out of sight?

Maybe the ICE forum would be helpful? I just got a garmin nuvi 350 yesterday and I'm thinking about getting a vent mount.......doesn't sound too sturdy but maybe it'll work out.
Aren't window mounts illegal in California?

The ProClip GPS holder clips to the door pillar to the left of the steering wheel. It is removable (just unclip it), doesn't use screws, holds GPS solidly and within easy reach for touch screen use, tilts and swivels but holds GPS steady. Well worth the price, MUCH< MUCH better than suction cup windshield mounts. Use "search"--- find the reviews already posted.

I made my own mount. For the tom tom, it has this sticky disc, which i used it to stick on a huge nut, in a small cup. its sorta like something that sits on a cupholder now. So it sits steady cuz its heavy, but its always removable. and its also close to the power connection. I have stickshift, so its easy for me to use the touchscreen there. I dont always look at it. Theres so many cupholders in the fit, so its not a problem for me.

The TomTom One 3rd Edition comes with a suction cup mounting and also a plastic disc with tape. Also the gps unit can be removed from the suction cup mounting so you can hide it when you're out of the car.
