I was in a Kmart parking lot, there was 3 police cars and several other people people around this really hot girl's car. They had a slim JIm and were obviously not having any success getting in. I looked at them and said, "How come there is never a car thief around when you need one" broke em up

My advice if you have car trouble, be a really hot chick. You get far more attention. JIm

I searched the front of the hood, I can reach the knob that realse the hood and put it up, but it need to pull the wire from inside the car to release the hook first. Brake the grill can get it done???

OP - are you getting door and keyhole repaired by insurance? So break a window.

Makes you wonder about your class of car thieves that they would want to steal a Fit.

Haven't missed anything. If the car has keyless entry from the factory, it has one manual lock. If it doesn't have a remote from the factory, you get multiple manual locks.

AAA or The "Auto Club" look to be the only options. (besides your idea of a thief...)

Makes you wonder about how bad those thieves are... couldn't even get into the car, what do they expect to do when they do finally get in one?

LOWER GRILL = 52.02
UPPER GRILL = 71.17

sorry you're having trouble - hope you're in it by now but if not lower grill might easier to get the hood open - maybe!!

Help me understand how breaking the grill and getting the hood up will get you in the car?

Breaking the front 1/4glass will, however.

Assuming you have insurance, break the window and claim it did that as you opened the door (ie that the theives must have damaged the window).

And then we can all thank the OP & Every other person that takes this advice for increased insurance rates.

How about calling the insurance company and letting them know that possibly due to the damage done to the car, the car will not unlock. They'll pay for getting into the car the right way. at this point, 1 week of an un-driven fit doesn't make sense for a dead battery. I've done that with mine and never had an issue so (while possibly a slim chance) there might be a chance that the dead battery is due to something with the thief trying to break in. (everyone is assuming all that happened was the lock was broken & the thief gave up. - More could have occurred and no one except the thief knows.)

At least handle it the right way.

~SB

PS. I'm guessing (Hoping) the OP got in by now.

I called my friend, he came with one.
around 5 minutes. door opened, then the battery pack do the job.

Biggest question... He mentioned that, why the battery in FIT is smaller than the one in his motorcycle !!??!!???

Must be cost savings. I can't imagine the weight savings is enough to make a difference. They use the same size battery on Honda hybrids, but on those the main battery is the lithium pack in the back. The one under the hood is just for running 12V accessories (I think).

The 12V battery under the hood also is used to start and maintain the engine, lights, & electronics like any other car. The Battery pack is used to drive the electric assist motor and it can't start the car or do anything like that. The voltage is all wrong to handle any of that.

The fit's engine is tiny so it doesn't need a big battery to fire up. Want some extra "boost" for the FIT. Add a 1/2 farad capacitor to the vehicle to regulate power drops, etc...

Will the slim jim work on the passenger door?

I'm in a similar predicament. Car wasn't being used for a week so I parked it right up against a wall. Battery has gone flat and the only keyhole is in the drivers door which i cannot get to. Will the slim jim work on the passenger door also? Any other way to open the trunk or hood?
