Running a USB cable from the Upper Glove box to the driver side cup holder?

Does anyone have any tips on removing the paneling and snaking a USB cable from the Upper Glove Box to the left of the steering wheel?

I did this with my previous car and messed up the paneling in the process. I'd prefer to avoid this at all costs. Surely there are some pictures showing how to safely remove the paneling?

If you can live with it coming into the center cup from behind the panel it's a 5min job to do. It hides the cable nicely and my ipod rides in the cup holder.

You just feed your standard Apple cable through the hole for the upper glove box. Then run the cable hard left/rear of the lower glovebox and feed it out to you. Then take the cable push up the plastic panel holding the right side of the cup holder. Feed as far back to the rear panel on the cup holder and you're done.

No cutting, no harshly bent ipod cable and just enough reach to feel comfortable. 5mins total

Take Scaldy’s advice. You can do a lot simply by pinching the sides of the lower glove box so that it swings down into the position for swapping out the cabin air filter. From there, it takes nimble fingers to reach up to the outer right side of the upper glove box to remove the little rubber block that secures the current cable, but it can be done. And the small rectangular panel over the center console cup holders can be removed by prying gently from the bottom using something thin with a 45-degree bend in it (I used a small hex key). This should give you all the access you need.

there's a DIY for installing an aftermarket headunit. (sorry, i can't find it right now) you can look that up to see what you need to do to take apart the upper glovebox and stereo and route the wires to the other side.

2' coaxial and duct tape

Just did this today - easy to get from upper glove box to center.
The funny thing is, in doing this we're essentially routing the factory line back to where it started from.
