How difficult is it to install TPS sensors on 2010 Sport wheels?

I have 4 sport wheels I purchased used for my snow tires and none of them have TPS sensors on them. I was curious if this is something I could purchase online and install myself? The wheels are not currently on the car so access would be easy. If it's an easy job could someone suggest where I could find a set at a good price?

Thanks!

well are tires on the rim? that would play a large factor on if this is something you can do yourself.

Two are on the rim and two are not on the rim.

Installing TPMS is not a DIY job unless you have a tire changer at your disposal. They are only around $50 each and programming is free to $100 depending on where you go.

yah, just take ur car to major tire stores and they usually sell TPMS that will work with your car. Discount Tires (America's Tire) for example...

IMO the best thing to do in your case is to obtain 4 blank or "cloneable" TPMS sensors from an aftermarket source, have their ID numbers cloned to match the 4 original sensor ID numbers already on the car.

This way you can swap wheels whenever you wish and the control unit still thinks they are the same.

The TPMS control unit can only hold 4 sensor ID#'s at any time, so if you got a set of regular sensors from the dealer (with 4 all new sensor ID#'s) you would have to have them reprogrammed to the car every time you swap sets.

Thanks but i found a place that will install them without the sensors so I'm going to go that route. Being someone who is a tad obsessed with tire pressure...I don't need them anyway. I don't care if the light stays on.

What model year is your Fit? if it's 2011 and above, having no TPMS will cause problems with your ESC.

The only thing that I am aware of is you can't turn off traction control. Otherwise many people I know run with tpms, because they swap wheels so often.

With 2009 & 2010 with factory navigation and all 2011+, you lose the ability to disable the VSA system (which includes traction control) which can be problematic in winter/snowy conditions where you need to spin the wheels. I think the OP has a 2010 and if it doesn't have Factory Navi, he just gets the "Idiot light" annoyance on the dash like I have right now.
