Front Corner Passenger Window broken
Front Corner Passenger Window broken **PICS**
So before going to work this morning i noticed that the tiny window in front of the passenger side window is all busted. That window is still attached together but its completely cracked into pieces.
So my question is, how much to replace that tiny window? Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
Thanks in advance.
********UPDATE**************
took 3 pics;

Looks like it was hit near the upper corner and that was what caused it to shatter.
Went to Honda, quoted $350+tax. Gonna try elsewhere to get it done cheaper.
On another note, i was reading the Car & Driver article today and had an article where the Fit was rated #1 in a comparison with like 4-5 other cars. The car they tested was a 2011 and they said the 2012's will have sound insulation, etc.. and *thicker front quarter windows*. Hmmm, i wonder why??

This thread is useless without pics!
Was it an attemped break in? I'm curious if it didn't break because of tint or it pressure ultimately forced it to crack.
Replacing it will be a matter of removing the glass and sealant, and putting the new window in (along with the appropriate sealant) and taping it to prevent movement for a couple days.

the tints definately helped it stay in and not fall out into a hundred tiny pieces.
Planning to take it to Honda tomorrow and get a quote.
couldnt get pics when i saw it but i'll get some tomorrow morning most likely.
It doesn't look like a break in but more like it happened on its own....maybe??? i cant understand how that could've happened though? what kind of pressure would cause that?

I'd be suspicious of an attempted break in. I've heard (thought I read it here in some thread) that thieves are focusing in on those side windows as a weak point to facilitate entry.
Kinda makes sense from a thieves P.O.V. . A lot easier and lower profile, to break a small side window and reach in and unlock, than break the full sized side windows.
I hope it doesn't become a common happening. Or I might be forced to install a more agressive Alarm System.

I once had my rear back window shatter into thousands of pieces right after a large truck drove behind me while I was parked in a parking lot. I think a piece of rock got tossed and hit the window. It made a load pop and I turned around to see the rear hatch window shrinking down. Could something like that have happened? I have found glass places like Safelite & Elite charge lower prices if they know you are footing the bill and not insurance.
Glass can just break for no apparent reason. A flaw in the manufacturing, a tiny chip, weird heat stresses, etc. And the side glass should be the kind that once it starts to break, it'll keep breaking into theoretically small, safe pieces. That said, it could be a break in. So it can be hard to tell what caused the problem.
Interesting. I still don't know. You'd think if it was an attempt at theft, the would be thieve would of just impacted the window in the center, or at what appears to be the most vulnerable point. This appears to have been impacted at the top...but it's so entirely shattered, hard to tell.
Oh well? You may never know. I'd be curious as to what your dealer/insurance says and what the total cost of replacement becomes..keep us updated.
It would drive me nuts and I'd have to fix it, but objectively? It does look kinda neat...as long as it's not my Fit.

I had my driver's side window explode on my previous Caravan for no apparent reason. My wife was covered in glass. Only a couple small cuts on her hands. $200 I think it was to replace.
I am still searching for a glass piece. Went to a local junkyard and they dont have any salvage Fit's to take this part from.
Not going through insurance because its gonna be less than the deductible.
Honda said $350+tax to fix, not covered under warranty.
I just taped it up and gonna look on ebay/craigslist to see if any1 has a totalled Fit to part out.

How about Elite or Safelite--- if you can find one on ebay or a junkyard, even better.

I just did my drivers front 1/4 glass. Its essentially glued on from the outside with windshield adhesive. I found a used on on ebay for $65. Car-part.com has some too. It does require three plastic clips from Honda. If you are carefull removing the old one, you csm reuse the plastic trim that goes on the back. Otherwise buy it from Honda. Don't scrspe all the old adhesive off the car opening. The adhesive bonds better to the original glue vs the metal.
