2012 Canadian Fit, now from china!
In hondas efforts to increase quality and its understanding how important the canadian market is, we get our fits from china now. But dont worry, in 2014 they'll come from mexico, so its all good.....

and i thought it was bad enough that the canadian lx, designed for canadian winters ( or so i was told, heated mirrors, spoiler and rims without the sport tax) that comes with one piece alluminum wheels that when driven on snowy highways collect water that freezes when parked. Then you cant get your hand through the wheel to remove the ice. Owning my fits been great....

From what I gather, Honda has fairly substantial supply issues due to the tsunami and they fear more issues/tsunamis in the future. That is why they are attempting to produce the cars for each market locally. The China thing is temporary to solve a supply shortage.
All that being said, I'm very glad to have a Japan built Fit. I would also be OK with a US built one. The chances of anyone in my family EVER owning a car built in China or Mexico is slim. We have been bitten too many times.

I will be in London at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn the end of Jan for some relaxation. We will be driving the Caravan though as wife brings everything except the Fit.
