base owners I need your help

I wanted to know if any other base owners are having this problem. Can you please look all around your steering wheel and look for premature wearing. I have it on the bottom and the top. It looks like where the "seam" is its extremely thin.

No problems. But mine is a 2012 model, so I wouldn't expect any wear yet.

No wear on our 2011 Base. We've put 16K on it, bought it back in April.

I don't have any where on mine with 7,500 miles but my '07 civic started wearing out at about 12,000 miles...I took it in and got it replaced under warranty

My base has been parked outside in the baking Austin sun for three years with 37,000 miles. No problems on the steering wheel. I'm thinking the rubbery plastic is reacting to either some sort of hand lotion or cleaning product. Only reason I say that is a friend's CRV's steering wheel recently started deteriorating really badly all of a sudden after getting it washed at a place that over armoralled the interior.

I bought a leather steering wheel cover for $49. Really makes an impovement, and eliminates any wear. Well worth it. That said, I had no wear before putting it on.

I was thinking about ""product's" making it worse too. The funny thing is that the bottom of the wheel is rarely touched
