I use spray detailer on my car after every drive, as long as its not raining or snowing.

If its raining, i use the air hose to blow the water off the car when I get into the garage so they don't spot.

If its snowing, I'm f'd because they use salt here. In that case I either go thru the laser wash once a week, or spray it off in the driveway if its warm enough.

I use one of these.

http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Clean-AutoD.../dp/B0006M56CE

I did not pay anywhere near $130 for it, but it is the only example I could find online.

It says to change the filter when it turns brown, but I use it till the water starts to bead.

This is what a pro detailer would use on his own car!

I don't have one myself but I have used a shop vac in a leaf blower mode and it works great!

I've read from some other car forums that this is really effective, especially for dark cars.

Car Paint Sealant|Best Car Wax|Auto Detailing - Nano Diamond Shield

It's expensive, but it will put a 4h hardness finish onto your car, thus making it harder for dirt to stick, as well as easier to clean.

This is a boutique detailing product in the class of nano-quartz sealants (latest thing), not just your usual car-wax/polymer sealant or infomercial car wax, or even zaino.

ray, that is very interesting. I'd like to give that a try some time. Wonder if one can would do the whole outside of a Fit since it's small? At $25 a can it would be better to not have to buy 2.

I would think that 1 can would last at least 1 car, I think it probably depends on technique, so if you're an experienced car detailer you've already got the hang of not wasting product

Here are 2 other products of similar technology
Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 Permanent Paint Coating FREE BONUS

CQuartz Ceramic Quartz Paint Protection, CQuartz nano coating, nano paint sealant

The last black car I had was in the 60's. A Ford Mustang, never bought another dark colored car, not worth it. JIm 0311

You're smarter than me. I get such joy when I'm done detailing a black car that I'm dumb enough to keep coming back for more. I've now had 5 black vehicles and have a hard time not getting one each time I'm shopping. Sometimes I talk myself out of it (right now have 2 silver vehicles) and sometimes the shiny black gets me

I have to say one huge plus of black, is when the car gets older and needs more touch up, you don't have to worry near as much about matching. A decent detailer can make any black car look great. Can pretty much only do that with white or black.

Believe me it has nothing to do with intelligence On the Efficient use of time and laziness scale, it is way towards the lazy side . I love a sharp looking black car, I will go to car shows and look.

Many years ago, you could eat off the carpets in my car, I shined and polished and waxed, bought Wesleys bleach white by the gallonit was fun.

honestly for me I wash my car normally in a shaded area then move it into the sun for some detailing. I never have to worry about spots. Show the car some love man. lol

Got to dry the car properly after a wash. I found The Absorber to work rather well...

Amazon.com: The Absorber Synthetic Drying Chamois, 27" x 17": Automotive

I use it after the touchless car wash during the cold times of the year when hand washing is not an option. Just be sure to throw the cloth into a laundry load every once in a while to clean it out.

VBP shouldn't be nearly as hard to deal with as black though. Black cars, I avoid.
