That paste you're using sounds interesting. I've only used brake grease that doesn't dry. It does eventually become more solid and gunky though, as dirt and brake dust stick to it.

Good luck and please let us know if it worked.

So far so good. Can't pin the fix down to one thing but defiantely worth the time and trouble to get to know the brakes. Might consider painting calipers now. What color would look good on a ssm with stocks ...

Red. Yellow. Black.

Whatever you do, please don't paint the drums anything but black. Painted drums (other than to make them look new) are cheesy.

Grey or a silver (to look metallic) would likely be passable. But hey, different strokes for different folks!

Actually, I just want to make mine less visible. But as I think about it, grey might make it more visible. I guess I'll stick to black, or matte black (if I ever paint it, though I doubt that).

So after about 100 miles of quiet driving, and some light braggin, the chirp returned!!!

This time under light brake application. There is also a chirp as I pull off.

I'm pretty sure its the pads as switched the wheels they were on to see if the chirp would move. It did.

I'll have to live with it for now. Maybe i'll buy some graphite fluid and pour it into the pads. Disappointed these EBC optimaxes are not as quiet as the posi's I had one them before.

Or it could be these rotors. My powerslots were good. I notice some groaning when I let off the brake (like a rubbing) that wasn't there before...

Lol. The thought did run across my mind (and those of my family members).

I guess i'm too involved in the car. Doesn't help I have 83k miles on my 09 in NYC so the car is driven hard on tough roads.

I love the car though and it is well maintained through the help of this forum.

I could make threads about my decals or my music, or how I like MW3 and ME3, or what coffee I drink in my fit, but I find threads that get us talking about maintanence to be the most productive...
