My ipod is no longer producing sound through my stock system. The display on the dash shows the song/artist/album being played and I can change tracks, but there is no sound. My wife's iphone is audible so it seems that it is not the hookup or radio. Anybody ever experience this?

Are you using an aux cable? Ipod usb?

have you tried using an IPOD?

 

my gen 5 crashes all the time now, and acts similarly when it does. try a reboot first (flip the lock switch from locked to unlock 5 times, then hold center button + menu (or pause/play cant remember!) until it resets).

If that doesnt work, try a different cable or playing the ipod on another dock based playback system to rule out dirty/broken pins.

 

Yep, I still get the same even w/ a Pioneer h/u. Reboot the Ipod.

 

I have rebooted and it is working again! Thanks to all for the solution.
