Wait times for 2012 Fits from the factory?

How long have you had to wait from ordering a Fit to delivery? I put a deposit down on a base 2012 M/T Fit on 4/3, and even though it was on dealer's 'on-order dealer report' as due 5/23, it's still not in. Dealer now claims mid-June. I feel like I'm starting to get run around.

My 1991 civic wagon knows something's up (kind of like the old dog when the new puppy is brought into the house) and it's starting to rebel--wouldn't turn over for the first time ever the other day, and clutch has started making weird rattling noises when engaged. C'mon Honda--get me my car!

They didn't have any on the lot? When we picked our '12 up the dealership had 5 on the lot.

Most dealers have plenty of automatics, but I want a base manual. The only one on the west coast at the time I ordered was in LA. Now, there are 2 within 500 miles of seattle, but the closest is portland, in a color I really don't want and the other is in Redding CA. At least they have In and Out in Redding, so there's another reason to go there.

Just put down a $500 deposit on the only blue 2012 Fit Sport M/T in Massachusetts only for test drive! My own 2002 Civic Si is also beginning to act up -- probably wondering why my wife and I have spent so much time talking about a Fit.

I couldn't test drive a manual--none available, but I'm sure it'll be fine. Drove the automatic, and resisted pressure from the dealer to "take it home today." Where do they come up with their lines like "what I do need to do to earn your business." It's hard to believe salesmen still talk like that.

I was waiting for a VBP Sport manual, and was told "about 4-6 weeks" from date of order. After eight weeks, a dealer swap was arranged w/ a dealer in South Carolina, or I would probably STILL be waiting. I wonder where can you obtain info on the number/type of cars in an area?? I've only seen 1 (each) VBP sport and Base. Oh, well! I've got mine!!!
2012 VBP Sport 5MT w/ minor appearance & comfort mods!!

I use Edmund's new inventory tool Local Listings - Edmunds.com--might not be 100% accurate, but close enough if you want to find a hard-to-find model within 500 miles of you. Then I check the specific dealers' sites inventory to confirm the Edmund's results. Beats going thru the dealers one by one.
