Changing Wheels

First of, good day to all! I'm new to the site and 1st time car owner. (Honda Jazz 1.3s M/T)

I'm planning to change 15" OEM Wheels to 17" (205/40/17) and lower it probably 1.5inch or 2inches (which do you prefer?). Is it the safest tire size that is clear from rubbing? Any advice please.

Thanks in advance.

Try these:

Tire size calculator (You may have to update your Java applet... depending on what OS and version you are using... GREAT calculator!)

Visual Tyre Size Calculator | Kouki Tech

Find Your Tire Size

Hope those help. I think the first link is the best. It shows you the tire difference visually (before and after) and also tells you what different sizes will do to your speedo after the change.

You can also go to Tire Rack, enter your tire size, and choose the other tire sizes option and it will give you other sizes recommended as a replacement for your OEM wheel size. Then use the first link above to see what difference it will make on your speedo.
