Ok so long story short. I took my 2012 Fit to get the recall service at my local Honda dealership. The day I got my car back I noticed that the horn no longer worked when I would double click to lock it nor did it work when I hit the panic button. I called them and informed them of the problem, after having to take it in 3 times they "discovered" that the fit has two horns, one for the locking/alarm and one for basic honking. The one for the locking/alarm was out and so they ordered me a new part and are currently installing it today,(under warranty); today being the 5th time I had to take it in including the time I took it in for the recall. The association between the horn and the computer update they did for the recall is being denied, they stated that they do not believe there is a connection, my horn simply happened to fail after I picked it up from Honda.
I just wanted to put this out there in case this problem occurs to anyone else taking there vehicle in for the recall services. Or for anybody whose horn fails them approx. a year and 1 month 1/2 after purchasing their car, the warranty does/will cover it.

 

my alarm horn just started going out as well. I have the 2010 sport from Japan. Really chapping my ass. Warranty is up and all. What was the recall on the computer for exactly? Just out of curiosity.

 

Eff the horn, my damn headlights clear coat is flaking off and fogging up already, wtf kinda cheap plastic is this headlight? Ive only had the car for 10 months and its already fading like a 10yr old chevy.

 

Pretty common problem is SoCal especially if your car sits outside alot.

Have it warrantied if you are still covered. If it happens again which it will take them to a body shop and have them cleared with a UV based clear coat.

Been there done that with a few of my cars.

 

my horns are fine on my 09 and 12.
the '12 has my infiniti horns on the front, and left the alarm chirp horn stock.

not sure wat your dealer did, but the horns are not an issue ive read about on this site other than that it sounds like a roadrunner...
