Transmission servicing, another thought

Lots of discussion of when to do the service on the A/T and some on methodology. So here's my comment/question.

If you are doing your own A/T service and if like many people your driveway slopes like many driveways and you use ramps while performing the service like some of the photos here illustrate then would it not be advantageous to place the ramps so you drive down the driveway to move up onto the ramps? It would seem that would allow more of the fluid to drain and perhaps using ramps both front and back would be even better?

I think it's safer to have everything on level ground (even if this means the car will be higher in front on the ramps). I don't think the angle will make that much difference as far as draining fluid. Check the level after adding when the car is level.

Always do work on level surface for safety. The ramps would be at an angle, I wouldn't be comfortable with that.

My driveway sits at a crazy angle so garage only for me.

My thinking is that on a moderately sloping driveway the car will be level once on the ramps, as if it were in a garage as opposed to at a significant angle from the ramps. And of course the parking brake would be set and chocks on both rear wheels.

not recommended

Obviously for safety reasons but also because the fit's nose has a hard time getting on ramps.

Plus a 2 or 3x DnF is better than the risk to yourself and your car.
