I'd pay to have it diagnosed by Honda. If it's not an adjustment, I would have thought an extended warranty would cover such things as throttle bodies and coil packs. Who is the warranty with? Just curious. Honda's appears to have it covered (fuel delivery section).

Could be valve adjustment, coil pack (s), etc.

The things don't have idle air control valves (not sure about 08s; it's an earlier generation), I think they're all drive-by-wire. The throttle plate controls idle speed.

Steve, Thank you for your reply, I purchased warranty from Honda when I bought the car new,it states in the small print under items not covered, throttle body assembly. I will take it to the dealer an and have it checked out.

That sucks. Well if it is the throttle body, ask for a goodwill consideration if it isn't covered by the extended warranty. The current hondacare warranties cover it.

I'd suspect valve adjustment (an adjustment wouldn't be covered. This is medium pricey: $200-$300), coil-packs, and/or bad spark-plugs before something messed up with the throttle body. Older ones (prior to yours I think) had idle air control valves that can get gunked up.

Let us know how it turns out.
