Wheel well undercoating
Hey guys,
Has anyone put any kind of undercoating on their wheel wells? I'm thinking about getting some kind of spray to put on there to help make it a bit more quiet while riding around in the Fit.
My brother who is a Jeep guy said to try that stuff people use to spray rims flat black and that can peel off but I dunno if that would even work.
Any thoughts or ideas? If anyone has a photo they could share with some knowledge of the type of stuff used that would be great.
Also, looking to spray the rear brake drums flat black or something to get rid of the semi rust look that they currently have on my car, ideas there?
Thanks

if you want to give this a try, what you want to look for is rubberized undercoating.
If you've seen on TV the infomercials for Flexseal, that is just rubberized undercoating, but rebranded for the Joe Home User, along with a big price increase.
Rubberized undercoating has been around for awhile and way cheaper than "flex seal".
A few manufacturers including the big industrial brandnames like 3M, rustoleum, permatex make it.
Google it, and you will find youtube and DIY, for exactly what you're talking about, perhaps not specific to the Fit, but the same concept.
You will find it for a fair price at homedepot/lowes/hardware store. Usually for about the same price as online.

i suppose you can try noise eliminator sprays. but best you change tires first. tires are like 80% of road noise. the other 20% is like from doors. but if you add dynamat it will add more weight and not sure if you want that.
dont expect too much from these econoboxes. save your money and get a nicer car next time, i suppose.

I used the 3M rubberized undercoating on the rear wheel wells not for sound deadening but because it looked like just painted no lining. Just bugged me.
