Driving the Fit on snow
I feel for you guys driving in the snow... Still preferred than ice though or worse, black ice. Hope none of you drive like this guy!

I Had a 09 LX for a winter with Nokian WRG2's (Decent "All weather" tire) and it was pretty great.
My 12' Sport now is amazing. Second winter with it. The First winter I finished off my Blizzak LM-25's until I felt the All seasons with only 7000 KMS on them would work better and it was fine.
And this winter I purchased new Nokian Hakka R2's in a 195/55/16. I Also have Eibach pro kit for lowering springs and no issues. The ONE time I've ever been stuck in winter driving (well I once got stuck in a parking lot with my old Golf but that was because the snow melted and it sank when I was in school lol) was this winter after a huge snowfall. Some lady in her big AWD suv ran me out of the clear part of my neighborhood road into what was 10-12 inches of mildly packed snow. She drove off like the *#*(&$# she was
and I called my room mate to pull me out.
The VSC on the Fit is impressive with the winter tires. Sheer ice I can yank the wheel at 100 kph/60 mph and itll straighten the car out. Im honestly surprised this isnt standard equipment on all cars.
The Fit is a tad twitchy on ice being a light weight car. I also suspect the rear axle is to blame. Lowered slightly I have 0 toe on the front and the rear is -.3 deg each side of toe.
Oh well, in the WORST conditions I turn OFF VSC and keep my foot into it. Its a FWD, more throttle will pull the car straight.
EDIT: And like someone mentioned, go have fun in a parking lot and learn to slide your car! So if you do hit ice you know how to react!
Here's a photo from last year when I still had my blizzaks lol

About 6 weeks ago we got 5-6 inches of snow here in NC (probably nothing for you guys up north) but I was very impressed by how well the Fit did. I got out of my driveway and down my unplowed road without any trouble. I have a 2013 Fit base M/T with the stock Dunlops. The tires are still pretty new so I imagine that helped a lot. Also, I had TCS turned off which allowed me to maintain momentum.
So I was not happy with my 2009 fit sport in the snow at all. I don't have snow tires, but I haven't had snow tires on any of my other cars either (tercel, corolla , cressida).
I did like the sport mode so that i could sort of use it like a manual transmission and that was nice.
In addition to the poor handling (I was fishtailing all over the place and it was a couple inches of snow) the low clearance is a nightmare.
I still love the fit, but it is not a winter weather car.
I hate to have to buy snow tires for the amount of times I have to drive in the snow (NY city - a couple snowstorms a year) but I do have to get to work when it snows. I have a small rental apartment, so I couldn't store snow tires - so it they would have to be on all year.
Also I HATE the honda dealership and it seems that when you replace the tires the TPMS goes on and I don't want to have to go to the dealership.
all of you who like the fit in the snow - what are you doing differently

The Fits we see here plus mine have handled extremely well in snow because they have good tires, proper wheel alignment, and tires slightly narrower and taller than OEM.
And of course the conditions of roads in NYC couldn't ossibly be at fault for being uneven, potholed, and poor asphalt as I thought when I had to go there.
From what you say I suspect you have a trread depth problem.
Now that winter is over (hopefully), and it was one hell of a winter here, the fit was AMAZING in the snow. I had snow tires on and drove daily. I never had one single issue with traction, braking, etc. Was worried about clearance with the sport model, but I never got stuck, and had to bust through a snowbank or two...
I got my 13 Sport right around New year this year and decided to not get snow tires this season. It's doable in snow and ice but stock OEM dunlop all seasons are pretty bad. Last few cars I've used General Altimax studded tires. If I have my Fit next winter I'm definately getting some and studding them. Our other car is an Odyssey and it is on studded altimax, makes driving in winter much more comfortable.
