Headlight Amor film burning?

Hi all,

I applied Headlight Amor film to my fogs after the glass on my inital set broke due to stones etc.

I have had the set on my car for about a year now, and I went to clean them last night and noticed that one was foggy and the other had a brown spot which would not wash away.

Has anyone had this issue with this film?? I'm not sure if its road grime burining on or the film itself.... thoughts?

They do state that the vinyl is breathable and requires a vinyl conditioner to keep the vinyl fresh and looking new.
What you could be seeing is the vinyl degrading if that is the case and you have not applied any conditioner.

I put the Headlight Armor yellow on the 2011 Sport foglights and mine too get hazy over time (always have them on when running headlights). I just use a little polish on them and the haze goes away. No burn spots on my nearly 3-yr old install.

They can burn, but its extremely rare (unless you're using non-stock bulbs that run hotter). I had a yellow set on my Fit a few years back that burned right through using completely stock everything, but I think the South Texas weather that summer (100 days of 100+ degrees) had something to do with it.

Headlight Armor actually saw my post and sent me a replacement set free of charge without me even reaching out to them or asking for anything. What a great company.

Here's a pic of mine after I took them off.

yah, it's kind of a known issue with those yellow laminx type film.

this is why i only use the fogs when i really need them in a blizzard or fog condition. mine is 1.5yrs old, still nice yellow and pretty.

Ha, thats wild! thats what one of mine looks like, I will try the polish trick although I doubt that will work (mine are clear film, not yellow).

I live in cold Canada and I still have that problem.....stock bulbs and cold weather, you would think they would be ok lol

How did you keep the next set from burning? Running fogs without film is not an option, the $300+ bill to replace my old fogs was stupid, I refuse to pay that much again!

I was thinking of maybe replacing my fog H11s with LED H11s? I'm thinking that these may run cooler and will not burn the film? I'm not concerned about output as they are mainly for looks. I will get my HID retrofit put in soon.........anyone have thoughts? I cant think of anything else to do short of not using the fogs which defeats the purpose of having them.
