snow build up in ge8 engine bay

I live in Kansas and we recently got a ton of snow and I've been having a large build up of snow in the engine bay. My ge8 is my daily and its slammed. Has anyone else had this problem also and how did you fix it?

why are you wondering how this is happening when you just said you are slammed?

Well, for comparison,I am dropped 2 inches and I had zero problems during that big midwest snow and ice storm in late november and early december.

car did great!! Snow was packed pretty damn good around the fenders/wheel wells, but other then that I was pleasantly surprised how well teh Fit shrugged off the fluffy stuff!!

There's a thread on here where someone attached a crz cover under their engine bay. Seemed to fit well to the fit chassis. I would suggest that for you to keep the snow out.

I found the same problem with my Fit in the heavy snow fall here in Southern Ontario.

I commute daily about 200km and the snow built up in the front of the rad and also behind the rad to the left and right. Eventually with all the highway salt/slush it turned to ice.

Of course that wouldn't be happening behind the Rad if it wasnt for the massive opening under the engine.
Always wondered why theres plastic shield down there except for the middle part.

I discovered my situation when I wanted to give the engine bay a rinse from all the salt it had been accumulating from driving.

Pretty sure theres lots still in there after trying to get most of it out.

It will not hurt anything. Just do not park facing into the wind when there is any chance of blowing snow. You do not want to pack it solid around the areas where the belt or fan run. Also if you park it with the wind from behind the car the engine will not cool as quickly and some amount of the snow will melt and drip off of he car. You have a very small engine there which does not generate a lot of heat. So relying on it to melt off the existing under hood snow usually will not happen until the OAT goes above freezing.

Thanks guys, finally got the car to a car wash and took care of the under hood build up. Haven't had any build up yet. ( road conditions are decent now )

I wish I could find time to raise it up, but being active military gives me very little time for almost everything. I know no excuses. Also wish I had the tools to do it.
