Looking for places to install a couple of amps. Under the front seats is where I want them to go and was trying to find some build logs (with photos) but search seems to be broken. Spent the last 45 crawling through quite a few logs I figured I should just ask.

 

There's a lot less space under the front seats of the Fit than on many other cars because the gas tank is there. The seat rails are more or less flush with the car's floor pan.

The spare tire well seems to be the most popular place to mount amplifiers in the Fit, but I'm sure there are other good options also.

 

A big enough amp under the front seats and you can turn up the bass and get heated seats at the same time!

There is lots of room under the back seats but I doubt you could fold them down if you mounted them there.

 

Hmm didn't know thats where the tank is. Does explain the weird slope... and will have to be very careful if I mount anything there.... wouldn't be very smooth to sink a screw into it. Thinking about a raised trunk floor with the amps under that... seems to be the only way of getting the amps and sub installed without losing usable space. I noticed the seats when laid down are not perfectly level with the trunk so will build the floor to match. Maybe with the added 2inches it will give me enough room to build the fiberglass box to match the tires shape... I can always keep dreaming.

 

I mount my AMP there.

 

Sorry off subject, is that another trunk light on the right side?
