To keep everything on track for getting home I am just driving it and will clear codes if they pop. When I make it back home (1500 miles) I will troubleshoot this more. Going to use the higher octane since it's a thing I can do now.

On the way back it didn't do anything weird but was a little more gentle on it. I just set the cruise control and if it was a large hill I downshifted once at the start of the hill which seemed to keep the car from thinking it needed to downshift twice. On most hills it was dropping two gears for some unknown reason... was holding speed and it didn't sound like the engine was having any trouble when it went down just one gear.

I also ran higher octane (93) in it just because someone said it could possibly be it.

Back home and haven't had time to try to get my car to mess up but will work on it sometime sooner than later.

Kinda miss my K series.... only issue was a failed camshaft and at 130k+ miles it still started smoother than my 2010 Fit with 35k miles. Literally just turn it to start and it started on first crank. The Fit sounds like it doesn't want to start most mornings (3-5 seconds of cranking).
