Will K&N intake help w/P2227 code?

2012 Base Fit, AT, 24,000 miles, a year left on warrantee. Recently I've had code P2227 a few times when revving 5500-6000 rpm up long grades, when the car has downshifted to keep the speed up and revs much higher than I usually let it.

At first instance, Dealer said it was "an anomaly", possibly something temporarily blocked my intake...as the code is barometric pressure sensor in the intake, yet everything tested ok. Car ran fine throughout, but code came in again going up Daylight pass in Death Valley.

Since it has only occurred at high revs, I wonder if a K&N intake might allow things to flow a bit better. Note I drive very conservatively, and don't often take the engine over even 4k rpms. (I like high gas mileage. )

Anyone have experience w/P2227 and a K&N? I'm not that big a fan of the K&N intakes I've put on past cars, but if it will help avoid the occasional P2227 code I'm willing to get one.

Car still under warrentee, but willing to go this way instead of frequent dealer visits for them to say nothing is wrong.

Thanks, Paul H

Never mind...Just visited the K&N site, and they say their intake does not meet CA emissions standards...so were I to go that way, I'd have to swap back in the orig intake and filter each time the car needed a smog test.

Guess I'll bug the dealership again if and when I throw another P2227 code.

That's best.

If it happens again, the ultimate fix is replacing the ECM. Expensive...

Your cars under warranty tho...so why not just have them fix it? next time the the DTC appears take it to the Dealership without erasing the code.
