2009 Honda Fit what should I look for
I'm in the process of purchasing a 2009 Honda Fit. I managed to negotiate the price down 2500 dollars pretty fast and I'm worried that there might be something wrong with the car. What are some common issues that I can look for before I decide to pull the trigger. Any help is much appreciated. Also, the clutch felt kind of soft compared to my Honda Civic is that normal? It was very easy to push down the clutch.

One thing you should check. Make sure the lost motion spring recall was completed:

Definitely make sure the LMS recall work was done, but that's easy, and if it runs it's not a problem currently. Honda will do this for free.
Other than that, just the normal stuff: know the market. Research used Fit prices using online resources such as KBB.com and Edmunds.com. Check autotrader and craigslist for ads.
With the next generation 2015s on dealers' lots this week, there's downward pressure on the "GE" generation's prices (2009-2013 in the US).

Minor trim things -
Is the driver's door armrest cracked?
Does the radio antenna seal or does it leak? Check the headliner for discoloring.
Just an FYI - the onboard MPG gauge is WAY off on the '09's. Like 15% higher than what you get at the pump. There's a TSB to fix it but yours may or may not have the fix.
These are great cars and there's not much that goes wrong on them.

Thank you all for your feedback. I called Honda before going Friday to finalize the deal and they confirmed the recall had been done. I didn't see the post about the antenna seal before hand but I don't think it leaks as it rained pretty good Friday into Saturday and I didn't notice any water. It does seem the mpg meter is off. I'll have to test it when I actually fill up the tank for the first time but this weekend driving about 100 miles or so I supposedly managed 41mpg.
Its a black 09 with 73k miles. paid 7500$ cash plus tax/dealer fees 8530$ out the door.

KBB.com puts it at $11,300 plus TTT. Edmunds has a certified used car price of $11,300 ($10,400 not certified).
there's definitely a downward trend on Fit prices at the moment, but I think you got a smoking hot deal.

It sat for a while. I think the dealer had it since January so I had a good bargaining chip. It was a more high end lot with mostly 25k+ cars on it so I could tell they wanted to get rid of it. By the time I was done negotiating they literally wouldn't even throw in an extra key since they only had 1.
