Options on 2009 vs. 2011 Sport
Hi!
First post here! Will be actively shopping for a Fit Sport this week, I love these things!
I'm looking at a 2009 or newer.
If you look at the options list on Wikipedia, you get the following:
As of the 2011 model year, the base Fit comes with a remote entry, 15-inch wheels with covers, power windows, power locks, cruise control, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with four speakers, a USB audio interface, a 12-volt power outlet, and other features. The Fit Sport adds a ground appearance package, 16-inch (410 mm) alloy wheels, paddle shifters, a navigation system, a security system, fog lights, chrome exhaust finisher, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, floor mats, a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system, and other features.
I'm trying to figure out what on that list wasn't standard on a 2009 or 2010 Fit Sport. Based on browsing listings, it seems there really wasn't much of a change in options, but I figured I'd ask the experts.
Thank you.

I have a 2010 Fit Sport-- the Navigation system was on the more expensive "Sport with Navi" model IMO, not worth the $2000 extra cost at the time. Garmin has served me just fine.
The 2011 regular sport might come with VSA traction as standard- it only came on the Navi model on 2009 & 2010.

I just want to make sure that the "basic" stuff was included on the sport and not an add-on for the 2009 and 2010 model years such as:
power windows
power locks
keyless entry
cruise control
tilt and telescoping steering wheel
And the "would be nice" ones:
paddle shifters
steering wheel audio controls
12 volt outlet
USB audio interface
leather-wrapped steering wheel

power locks
keyless entry
cruise control
tilt and telescoping steering wheel

That's good news. Steering wheel audio controls would be cool, but it's a tiny car after all, so I can just reach over and turn the knob.
I'm not going to go for the NAV, factory nav in ANY car is a bit "lacking" in my opinion and if I really want to add it later, the aftermarket options are much more interesting anyway.

I do not know of any real difference in the 09 to 11
There are some subtle changes in the 12-13 vs the 09-11 but if you plan on adding Mugen accessories there are some parts that are not available for the 12-13 but they are available for the 09-11

It's all good - this is exactly what I wanted to hear!
I wasn't searching for it, but I ended up with factory nav in my last 2 vehicles, 3Series BMW and Toyota 4Runner.
Both were ...... fine, but both left a lot to be desired. If I come across one with nav I'll pull the trigger, but if not I'm fine either dealing without it or adding an aftermarket unit.
I have Friday off to go and test a couple out. Wish me luck.
Thanks for the help.

I would actually suggest not getting a navigation model and adding one yourself like I did:

The factory navigation is a tad outdated and the aftermarket options are much more robust for 1/4th the price

looks like VSA traction control was added to the 2011 model-- it was only available on the Sport with Navi models in the 2009 & 2010 models

Ahh! That makes sense.
Not a big deal for me, this car will see little to no action in the snow here in Charlotte.
Thanks for the info. Found a couple I'm going to look at on Friday.

there are a lot of little thing that Honda did different between 09-10 vs 11+, You should be fine as long as you go with a Sport or Sport Nav. and Not the Base model which will not have all the thing your looking for, but you can add all those thing.
