Hey guys, I notice a rock/knock/tap after going for long rides. Car is running full synth 0w20. Normal? Bad things to come?

How many miles on yours?

My '11 started doing that at 80k miles.

 

I've got 65k, noticed it around 57k but has gotten louder.

 

Just wondering if you guys have checked your A/C Pump or Coil. I had to replace my Coil recently because it totally stopped my A/C from working, but the pump seem to have some bearing problems that is causing a loud knocking sound even after the A/C was fixed and working again. Eventually I will be replacing the pump when it shuts down on me. Hopefully this helps. Cheers!

 

Sounds like a timing chain slapping, but at your mileage, it shouldn't be doing that.
I would use a stethoscope or some other device to find the exact area where the sound is coming from and go from there. Hopefully it's not something related to connecting rods or pistons. Did you race the engine? What was the oil change interval? What engine oil was used?
