GE8 MT using MTF-III with clicking sound
GE8 MT using MTF-III with clicking sound
Hello everyone. My car is GE8 MT. I have changed MT Transmisison fluid lately ( using HONDA MTF-III) and after that I always heard a "clicking" sound from gearbox when releasing the clucth during low rpms ( 1500-2000) in each shift. Some technians said the click sound is normal in MT gearbox and if using the MT fluid with higher viscosity, the click sound will be eliminated.
Does anyone encounter similar situation ? or it's really normal ?

Nothing normal about no clicking sound.
Have it diagnosed. Something sounds wrong.
How many miles on the transmission and the clutch? What were change intervals?
Was there any sound immediately prior to fluid change?
Were there and are there any leaks around transmission?
(I never heard of MTFIII, I just use regular Honda MT fluid with excellent results). Good luck.
