Hi! I am looking to purchase a used 2013 Fit. It looks good.. Drives well. But when I turn it on - it chimes high/low ding-ding after about 3 seconds of it being off and then again after being turned off for about 3 seconds.


I drove this same car a month ago and it was not doing that...
They almost had it sold two weeks ago - and what is also strange is the tire jack and stuff was moved - so I am wondering what might have happened.

Does any one know if the chiming means anything that should be of concern before I purchase? I have it on loan overnight...

Did you check if it is any of the alarms such as unfastened seat belts or door left open?

 

Well, I looked up this remote thing that was in the glove box. Passtime.

It was warning me that the car would disable today - it is a lo-jac type option that finance companies install to ensure payment... if the payment is not received they disable the car.

The car is back at the dealership now.



That would have made for a very bad day today getting disabled in Houston...
