ABS Skid Light ON
ABS Skid Light ON
I have a Fit 2012, and just lately, the ABS Skid Light stayed on. I took it to the dealer who wanted to charge $550 to replace the ABS sensor. I would like to know if anyone has run into this problem and if I would have serious problems not fixing this for right now (very low on finances right now). I am told that the ABS provides the extra umph to braking under wet or snow conditions so the brakes don't lock but does not help much under normal conditions.
Is there a way to just reset this light without fixing the sensor?
My brakes are working well.
Thanks! Jd

go look behind your wheel and see if the wires are damaged or cut. sometimes u can just solder the wire and fix it that way without replacing the sensor. if the sensor itself is bad ud have to go replace it. check out bernardi parts or collegehillshonda for price or even rockauto

ABS sensors usually cost < 100 bucks each on even high end cars,
the sensor usually is near the hub of the wheel an the inside and floats right nest to a
tone ring that looks like a gear sorta..
< 15 minutes to swap once you've done one.
Remove tire, look for the only gadget on the hub with wires, usually a lipstick sized tube with 2 wires coming out running to plug in fender well.
Cheers
