Unknown number of 2009-2014 Fits to be recalled due to Takata airbag inflator
Honda announced Wednesday that it's recalling 2.23 million additional Honda and Acura vehicles that have a Takata airbag inflator that uses ammonium nitrate and in a collision could fire shrapnel into the driver and passengers, potentially killing them.
This includes an unknown number of 2009 to 2014 Honda Fits.
Fit owners won't know until Feb. 15th at the earliest if their vehicle is subject to the recall.
Here's the CNN article:
Takata airbag recall is worse than we thought - Feb. 3, 2016
You can check around Feb. 15th whether your Fit or other Honda/Acura vehicle is part of the recall.

I was surprised that the Fit's hadn't been involved before and thank you to the person who posted as I was heading to buy a 2012 Fit Base in 3 hours. I told the dealer I'll wait until the official VIN list comes out mid February. I'm not in a hurry to replace my current ride and since I already own a 2012 Fit, I probably don't need two in the driveway both with the Takata airbag recall that can't be fulfilled until parts are available late summer. I'm not overly concerned, but it is a mess for Honda.

This is great info! Thank you for posting, if I didn't come here I wouldn't have known to check my VIN on the 15th at the links you provided. Very helpful.
My garage queen (2005 Mustang GT Prem Convt.) has had a recall on it for the same thing. They keep bugging me to take it in and fix, but considering the car is under a cover, on race-ramps, and gets less than 1k miles per year, I'm probably not going to do it.

Edit: ignore everything I wrote. I obviously have reading comprehension problems. I'll be canceling my service request . . .
I went to Honda's recall site and found that my VIN was one of the vehicles affected. Or at least I thought I was affected until I saw this thread. My local dealer's service website indicated that I need to have my airbag replaced too.
Should I be holding off on taking my Fit in to get serviced? My original reason for checking here was that I was wondering how long it takes to fix, as you can only drop off or use a shuttle.
I have a 2013 hatchback.

What makes this such a debacle is that the replacement airbags won't be available until this summer. If your vehicle is on the list (you can look this up on Honda's website by VIN by around Feb. 15th), you'll get notification within 60 days. Then you'll get a notification once the parts are available (they say this summer) and then you'll need to go to your local dealer to get it replaced.
What's worse is the 2008-2010 Accords (341,000 sedans in the U.S.) are being recalled for problems with airbags made by Continental. And the replacement parts won't be available until the fall.

Mine is affected. I have a 2010 Fit Sport. I really hate going to the dealer near me because they're always trying to tell me things are broken that actually aren't.

I returned my rental car and got my 09 Fit Sport back on Monday....ahhhhh...love having my car back. Driving home tonight and noticed both low beam lights were not working....just finished changing that out...guess getting 7.5 years out of the originals is pretty good
