Best tires for autocross/backroad driving days???

I've got a 2009 Fit Sport M/T. Only mods are short ram intake and extra rear sway bar.

I want to find the best summer tires for autocross/track days as well as some fun back roads on weekends. These will NOT be my daily tires so I do NOT need them to be quiet or super comfortable.

Not wanting to roll fenders or do any suspension or body mods to get crazy wide rubber. However, I do want to find the widest rim+tire combination that will not rub at all when taking hard turns and going over road undulations. Does anyone know if a wider wheel and tire combination work without rubbing on a stock 09 Fit?

Thanks!

I'm running a 17x7 +40 Enkei NT03 wheel with 205/45-17 Dunlop Direzza Star Spec II tires. Handles like a beast!

I have coilovers and progress rear sway bay...oh and no rubbing of any kind. Fenders are not rolled.

205 maybe a 215 but check the tire specs on minimum wheel width requirements.

I like my BfGoodrich Sport Comp 2's. They are my summer tire. Might want something more aggressive for Autocross.

I vote 205/50R16 Bridgestone RE71R as well! That on a 7 inch wide wheel will be a good starting point. Dunlop Z2 Star Specs will be an alternative choice for something with similar grip but lasts a smidge longer.

Research what will be ideal for your wheel offset prior to pulling the trigger.

I love my Continental Extreme Contact DW 205/50/16's. My camber is set to -1.1 in front. It's like a cat on carpet. My 2cents
