Led vs hid

Led is easier and also plug and play without needing a ballast like an hid. Unfortunately you lose the orange drl only capability. Both set of lights will need to be adjusted. I suggest getting ddmtuning. Here is a photo of my leds. Hid is slightly brighter and u can choose your color vs led is only bright white. I chose led for the simplicity of installation. Message more if u want any additional info.

I bought a set of the Philips Ultinon LEDs in H4 and H11 fron XenonDepot, and while pricey, they're fantastic. Maybe HIDs would give slightly better light output, but then you're looking at the hassle of having to retrofit projectors in.

I have LED bulbs in my car the headlight aim is perfect. I found out that the led bulbs are all the same and they have different sockets depending on what housing it’s going into. The LED bulbs can be put in upside down and it will seem like your high beams are on all the time, if they are put in the right way the light cut off will be perfect. The way I did mine was removed the OEM rubber cover and bulbs, took the led bulbs out of the 9003 holder usually they can be twisted then pulled out it should have a little o ring on it. Then I installed the 9003 shape Bracket in the light housing, then put the OEM rubber cover on and pushed it over the 9003 holder so it was secure. Then I put the bulb through the rubber cover and bulb holder so the headlight will still seal like OEM. Don’t forget to test it if you notice if your lights don’t cut off like factory twist the leds out and flip them 180 degrees and re install them the right way around. Hope that helps.

I went with these a couple of months back. I'm happy with them. They have a good, sharp cutoff on the low beams and the DRLs still work.

Tight Fit likes this.

Nothing makes me want to follow you to the gay book store and stab you in the parking lot MORE than illegal low beams blinding my ass when I'm headed home from work with a migraine headache.

Stick to the "xenon-type" bulbs like Silverstar, and spare oncoming traffic the urge to piss down your neck.

You can put good headlights in and not have to "F everyone else". People that do bad HID swaps need to be ticketed, I'm sick of highly glare-y headlights. It's not safe, and honestly bad HID swaps can be just as ineffective as stock halogens. I can't honestly tell if yours are glare-y, photos can be misleading.
