Hit 147,000 Tonight

Just hit 147,000 tonight. Ordering new coils/plugs, and serpentine belt, to have done along with a valve adj. hopefully to schedule for this weekend or early next week. Also received the Honda manual transmission fluid to have done.

Car is on original coils and plugs. Trans fluid has never been done. Only ever replaced battery, rotors, pads once. Been through 3 sets of tires and on my 4th. Oil always done when maintenance minder is at 0%

What year is your Fit?
My 2010 is at 163K and runs and drives like new yet.
Along with being super-reliable, Hondas (mt) are fun to drive.

Hello fellow Floridian

Do you plan on keeping the car till it "dies" for one reason or another?

Nice going, Daytona. Do your fluids and filters. Let us know about the degree of difficulty with the valve adjustment. And have a blast.

So I finished changing the transmission fluid and it feels like a completely different car through the gears. Some how I lost clutch pressure, so ended up bleeding the clutch and all is good. My new belt, slave, valve cover gasket, NGK plugs, and coils are all in from being delivered. I'm hoping to do all these with a valve adj. within the coming 1-2 weeks. I will let you know how that goes. I may be ordering a new clutch and flywheel, along with a new starter and alt. With total replacement of all my coolant hoses and possibly another radiator. That way just go for the ultimate tuneup. Thanks guys.

Any suggestions on the clutch and flywheel for the 5-speed Honda Fit? Any better alternatives like a lighter flywheel?

I plan on running this car until the block, pistons what have you, that cannot be easily replaced fails. After that a complete swap, K20a with most likely a turbo setup. Anyways Im putting about 3k miles a month on. Time to rack on the miles.

I do plan on keeping this car. I reminds me of the 2003 Focus SVT I had back a while ago, although I had it boosted. I like the room the car has, it handles decent and is actually fun to drive with just the little power it has.

And the fact that I just paid This Honda Fit off last month, I would rather put away for the swap I want on this car then to dive back into payments on another 25-35k for something I could build for less.
