So long and thanks for all the fish.....I am out of the Fit family. I picked up terminally expen$ive transmission issues, and with the $$ I have dumped into the old beast in the last 7 months I cannot justify more on a dd, so it is off to the knackers yard (Car Donation Serivces...a favorite charity will get the proceeds) . I may lurk around from time to time, but will no longer be an active member.Peace out all.

Sure it's a trans issue and not a broken axle? A broken axle can be replaced for a couple of hundred dollars if you let a shop do it or under a 100 bucks if you do it yourself.

 

It is a transmission issue. Has given me the CEL/Flashing D 3x times now. 1st time the shop diagnosed a solenoid B issue, but it tested ok. They changed the fluids and it appeared to be working ok. Two weeks later, same issue. I power cycled the car when I got home- the flashing D went away but the CEL did not. Unhooked the battery to see if the CEL would reset- which it did. A week later CEL/Flashing D again. Shop now says teardown ($$$) or new transmission ($$$$). Not willing to pour more $$ into this car, so the charity I am donating the car to will pick it up on Monday.

 

That is why I would change out OEM fluid to Redline or Amsoil Signature series at 20,000 miles use an inline TransProtector filter, and change out ATF fluid every 40,000 miles after. I question if a low mile used valve body would of fixed it, and get DW-1 out of it too.
