I've heard several GK's starting up and they sound a lot like reduction starter. Belonging to the same engine family i assume this would be bolt-on to a GE L15. Anyone tried to do this ?

A number of local GK's do have starter problems, which is not the same as the starters on GE's. Thankfully.

USDM GK's get the Earth Dreams engine, which have their own problems.

thanks for answering. I do notice that GK's have more parts failing prematurely as compared to the GE. I even have a friend who sells used parts who tried to fit a reduction starter from a d-series engine. unfortunately it didnt fit.
