Airbag Light

Hey, I have a 2009 GE8, I swapped seats from a 2012 GE8, now I'm getting airbag light. Just wondering how I can get this fixed?

please advise of the following .... during the seat swap:

A = my battery was disconnected (negative terminal)
B = my battery was not touched during the entire process

So just to make sure we're on the same page here's literally everything I did...

1)disconnected negative terminal
2)disconnected 2009 seat and removed 2009 seat
3)connected 2012 seats and bolted up 2013 seat
4)connected negative terminal

I can tell you this, along with my 2010 Fit, I have an 05 Acura TL with my airbag light on. I had the code scanned and it comes up with 61-10 Permanent DTC Open in the drivers seat belt buckle switch. There's a sensor in the actual buckle that went bad on my Acura which will trigger off the airbag light. Apparently it is still covered under Acura's warranty because it's part of the restraint system, although I haven't had the time to bring it in to be fixed, or had the time to have my drivers side airbag replaced on my Fit. Not sure if that's what's causing your airbag light to come on, but it may be.

to test out marc's theory .... repeat your steps, but restore the original seats

report back with your findings

Will do! I'll contact the person I swapped seats with, as he's getting the exact same error.

I just did some checking, because we did swap the buckles, could it be the OPDS? If so, is OPDS something that can be reset?

I can't speak for the Fit, but with my old 2001 Kia Rio I had to unplug a wire under the dash to install something and I got a continuous air bag light (until the light burned out). I plugged it back in right away, but it didn't care.
The airbags obviously need some type of computer reset I couldn't do. On the bright side the airbags deployed properly when the car was totaled in a crash a year or so later.

Then you will have to go to the dealer to get it checked. It sucks, but the price of peace of mind

Hey Tyler,

Just checking you managed to get your SRS light resolved. I changed seats between a 2009 and 2012 model and have the same issue.

It would be appreciated if you can shed some advice on what you ha e done to resolve.

Regards
Ismail

Unfortunately I haven’t I’ve been waiting for help on that for a while but haven’t made progress. I would’ve though swapping early GE8 to late GE8

I remember watching a video of someone swapping out Civic seats into the Fit and the connectors are the same, but two of the pins are swapped. It could the pins swapped between the different years.
