Where are you located?
Studded tires are not permitted here in MI

Just put my winter tires on 2 days ago. I got the Dunlop winter Maxx with 14" steelies off tirerack last year . After a $50 rebate I think it was $400 .I thought they worked great! We had a freak snowstorm here in Jersey a few weeks ago and didn't have my winter tires on. The storm pretty much crippled the state and I couldn't get anywhere with my regular tires .I had to ditch my car and walk home, luckily I was close and it wasn't a far walk .Getting winter tires was a great decision .

I will try and rustle up a set of Civic four bolt rims tomorrow for dirt cheap....
Hopefully, I don't have to hear some "Junkie" tellin' me they are worth gold to him...
I don't think so..... They won't have sensors in them........ They should be pretty
popular.............. We'lll see.....

Just

P.S.
What Hogwash! on studded tires...... I mean really.... Studs have been around alot longer that these
tire shops have been....... In the sixties..... geeze nobody even put snow tires on the front of their cars........ Let alone Studs all the way around!
COMPLETE HOGWASH!
Cars were not front wheel drive.....(Until the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldsmobile_Toronado)
I mean granted, Don't have banana skins on the back.......... But studs all the way around..........(SIlly)

Pennsylvania allows studs in snow tires from Nov 1 to April 15 and the studs can't stick out farther than 2/32". Personally, I just don't need that sort of equipment where I live but there are plenty of places where it would make sense. To each his own.

True.

It is a tough call..... Really, DON'T go out,,,, if the conditions are that bad........

If you have to deal with such stuff, good to have a four wheel drive beater for the winter.

If you get caught in that stuff. Sure, better to be prepared......

Tough to plan.... Especially with the pace of things these days....

Dude none of your posts make sense. Try and use something resembling proper grammar, please.

Mike410b Did you start this thread?
NOT!
Follow what the thread starter is referring to......
Then it all will make sense.
Apologies, for not quoting him........(figured being, it was a consecutive post; should be cohesive)

Regards, J

I'm asking that you type coherently in sentences. I'd hope that is not too much to ask.

2 or 4 snow tires

two snows on the front will turn any car into a spin top on a turn or under breaking when it’s icy, studs will make it worse. Same thing happens when your in heavy rain if your fronts are new and rears are worn out.

If your best tires tires are on the back you go straight when you try to turn.

Either er way you need 4 quality tires.

Only if you live in Canada.

Meanwhile the calendar said spring started yesterday and we are experiencing 75-80°F (24-26°C) temps today.

I loved my visit at Newfoundland, but I could never live that kind of winter.
