Recall!

I just got a recall notice for my ‘11 Fit. Passenger side airbag. If you haven’t gotten a notice, you might want to check your VIN.

For anyone who bought their Honda as a used car, the owner information may not be updated at Hondas corporate level unless you do it yourself (call the customer assistance hotline or send in the postcard from your owners manual).
Otherwise, these important recall notices might be sent to the cars original owner instead of you, the current owner.

Various models and years are added to the recall lists regularly, and recalls may be issued for things other than just the airbags.
Check your cars recall status at least once per year.

Check your VIN for any needed recalls at

recalls.honda.com
(USA)
honda.ca/recalls (Canada)
Recalls are always FREE to you!

I’ve had mine for almost a year still haven’t taken it in. I don’t want them ripping my car apart and leaving me with a rattle lol

I have a 2010 base that I bought used last Oct. I started getting letters in May to bring it in and didn't for the same reason you're holding off on bringing yours in. Figured they'd screw something up. I finally brought mine in about a month ago and it doesn't look like they touched anything at all. Pretty sure because our dash is all plastic it just pops out and in pretty easily. I was sick of getting recall notices.

Yes, but this is different. The steering wheel is one thing but the dashboard / cosmetics is a little different if not done right. I had to take mine back (steering wheel) when I stepped on parts left on the floor when I drove away. Not confidence inspiring.

Yep. Got mine this week..VINs have been up for a few months though, they know the affected cars but are probably rolling out by state like with the driver bag recall.

Mine was done on Friday. The steering wheel one took 3 months to get the parts. This one was quick. No apparent damage from the process.

You're worried about a rattle? You realize a bad inflator can be like a bullet to your (or your passenger's) face? If it rattles after they fix it, you take it back again. Don't risk your life waiting. I had my steering wheel airbag done, and then just a few months later I was in an accident. I was glad I lived.

Did our used 2010 Fit front passenger airbag recall 3 weeks ago when we stopped by a dealer to ask about other things.

On a side note, the clutch died today while on the highway which necessitated a tow to a repair shop.
This will be our first big repair bill on our used car..

Just wondering how long the passenger side takes, did you guys drop it off? Did you get a loaner vehicle?

It was pretty quick.

We went for lunch in the area and before you knew it, got a text message from the dealership that the car was done.
