Do you torque it to 7.5-10 ft/lbs after installation?

Says 3/4 turn on filter and do so . Checked again today after driven 50+ miles and no oil on paper towel .

3/4 of a turn after the gasket makes contact is fine, not after it's hand tight.

I just tighten as much as I can buy hand, itys usually enough to bottom out the oil filter metal to metal. :-)

Sorry but they don't need to be that tight. Snug the gasket then a HAND turned 1/2 to 3/4 turn is fine.

Just looked at my Honda filter direct from a Honda dealer and nowhere does it say use a wrench. I have NEVER seen a spin on filter that says use a wrench on all kinds of makes and models including Hondas.

Lol what I meant is I can usually hand tighten it enough where the rubber o ring is compressed enough to make the oil filter rim touch the housing base.

As for the other guy I have seen oil filters that state a picture of oil filter wrench and says 3\4 turn after seal makes contact. The only time I use a oil filter wrench to tighten is in a few select application where space is very limited to get my hands in there for a good grip. Case in point my Honda vfr800 and Kawasaki zx6 is one of those bikes where I had to use a wrench to tighten it simply because there wasn't enough room to work around plus motorcycles have been known to loosen oil filters with vibrations from high rpm use.

I've tightened using filter wrenches on full sized diesel engines, but because the filter is as big as my head

Haha yes my T2000 had 2 oil filters, both were OEM Wix units and were about 6" in diameter and about 9-10" tall. Felt like both held 2 quarts of oil. I used to use redline synthetic oil and bought them in 5 gal buckets. Boy those days were costly....
