Help! What did I just loosen?
Help! What did I just loosen?
Was doing the 1st oil change since the factory coupons were used up. Checked the owners manual, got under it... and started unscrewing this bolt (see pic), needed a breaker extension to loosen it, as soon as oil didn't start dripping I knew I was wrong, then saw the nut with the oil sign (duh).
There was a white plastic coating in the screws, did I mess up? Tightened it up tight again... but nervous. Help?

Whew!!
Thanks, palos!
What an oil change!
Lessons learned:
-take your time
-do your research
-Walmart's oil was 13$ cheaper than an auto part store
-when you grab the oil from the shelf of oil you need, still read the label
-though the little oil pans take up less storage and are cute.. lay something down around it and below it, bc they sure don't catch everything.

With oil purchased from WalMart, you do need to read the label, e.g. Mobil One is sold in a 5 quart size and a 5 liter size. Though those volumes are close, but there is a difference. Locally, WalMart sells the 5 liter size of Mobil One, while most other oil they sell is 5 quart.
