Progress RSB Install complete -- Question
Progress RSB Install complete -- Question
Hey all, I just got in from installing the rear sway bar on my fit. While muscling under the middle screw on the passenger side several small bits of the rubber spring support came off. Picture below.

Is there potential for this to cause any sort of issue or is this okay?

Didnt you unbolt the rear shocks and let the axle hang enough to remove the springs?
Makes it easy.
Your picture shows it will work just fine.
If it starts making noise, new rubber ends are listed at $9.75, but most online dealers will sell for 6-8 bucks
If you want to purchase new ones just incase, when you are in the parts section, look for rear axle, and the part is #8, part number is 52748-TF0-020

I did not unbolt the rear shocks, as I was working in a parking lot with a jack that barely provided me enough clearance to get it on this way.
I'm also pretty darn inexperienced with working on cars and am using this as a way to learn.
What sort of noise would I be hearing and what exactly would cause it? The spring grinding against the metal holder?
well obviously it would be a metal noise.
But the picture shows there is plenty of rubber to prevent you hearing anything for awhile.
I see you still have stock springs. I think aftermarket springs will complement that new sway bar more then you realize. I bought the cheapest, Dropzone, and they are doing pretty well. They are stiffer then stock, thats for sure. Tein or Progressive might be more your style if you want it close to factory comfort, but with stiffer response

Please get some jack stands. You can get a pair for under $20 from Sears or your local car parts store. Never work under a car that is held up only by a jack. No mod is worth dying for.
