Electronic Steering and Head unit resets while driving

I tried searching google and this site and didn't come up with anything. This happens a few times a week and seems to be fairly random, Can be stop and go or while just going at a steady 30mph pace. It has not happened at higher speeds. The steering light will come on and get heavy while at the same time the stock touch screen head unit reboots itself.

2009 Fit Sport w/ SAT NAV
98k Miles

Fuses look fine
Grounds that I can see from up top look fine but I do not have a voltmeter
Alternator is still charging since the batter is not dying

Is there a short somewhere?
Bad EPS unit?

Anyone run into this before?

Have you checked for a fault code?

did you actually check if your battery cables are secure and the leads are clean?

I had this same problem and the issue was solved by changing the battery

If changing the battery and cleaning the bat terminals doesn't solve the problem, I would wager a guess that something is simply loose or dirty and needs to be addressed. The worst case I can think of is some group of components getting heat stressed and failing intermittently in the ECM.

keep us posted, let us know what you find out.

When my 09 Fit sport had similar power issues: 2009 Ge8 Sport Radio shuts off and power steering gives out

The fix turned out to be replacing part 13 and 15 below (the negative battery cable and the bolt). Parts 32600-TK6-000 and 90149-SE0-003

Yes I did check the main ground and it is secured to the block and battery which is only about a year old. There does not look like there is any corrosion but I will clean it anyways. It has not done it in weeks since the temperature is now above freezing. Thank you for the feedback

It is not unheard of for batteries to fail prematurely.

I would have the battery load tested before next winter....

Have you ever checked the electrolyte in the battery cells? (Even "maintenance free" batteries can be checked, you may need to cut a sticker covering the battery top.)

Any follow up resolution on this? My 09 just started to do this as well at 93k. Although I don't drive the FIT anymore, my wife does, she's been spooked a few times. She explains that the GPS dash shows an exclamation point with a steering wheel looking thing after it resets.
